Saturday Silliness!

A lawyer and a senior citizen are sitting next to each other on a long flight.

The lawyer is thinking that seniors are so dumb that he could get one over on them easily.

So, the lawyer asks if the senior would like to play a fun game.

The senior is tired and just wants to take a nap, so he politely declines and tries to catch a few winks.

The lawyer persists, saying that the game is a lot of fun...."I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me only $5.00. Then you ask me one, and if I don't know the answer, I will pay you $500.00," he says.

This catches the senior's attention and, to keep the lawyer quiet, he agrees to play the game.

The lawyer asks the first question. "What's the distance from the Earth to the Moon?"

The senior doesn't say a word, but reaches into his pocket, pulls out a five-dollar bill, and hands it to the lawyer.

Now, it's the senior's turn. He asks the lawyer, "What goes up a hill with three legs, and comes down with four?"

The lawyer uses his laptop to search all references he can find on the Net.

He sends E-mails to all the smart friends he knows; all to no avail. After an hour of searching, he finally gives up.

He wakes the senior and hands him $500.00. The senior pockets the $500.00 and goes right back to sleep.

The lawyer is going nuts not knowing the answer. He wakes the senior up and asks, "Well, so what goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four?"

The senior reaches into his pocket, hands the lawyer $5.00, and goes back to sleep.

See! We oldies aren't as stupid as we look!!!

I promise you that this last one is NOT me and hubby!!

Enjoy your weekend my friends, and I hope you find something to smile about along the way.

Well, here I am still awake and laughing like a loon at these marvelous jokes and cartoons, Thisisme. That first joke reminded me of a riddle that Groucho Marx came up with:

QUESTION:
What has 4 legs and chases cats?

ANSWER:
Mrs. Katz and her lawyer.

Thisisme, I'm all aglow after your loving concern about me, followed by Belle's, and a short while ago even more blog love from our wonderful mutual friend Desiree who, if she reads this, needs to know how very special we think she is. Happy Saturday to you and off to bed for me!

If the last cartoon isn't about you and your hubby, are we to assume all the other ones are?

Loved the joke about the lawyer and the cartoons. One reminds me of my hubby, but I won't tell you which one. Have a lovely Saturday sweet Diane.

Bethe - hi there. Glad you enjoyed the humour today, and the lawyer joke was pretty good, wasn't it?! I hope you can find some time to relax this weekend my friend, because I know just how busy you are at the moment!

Sush - I so agree, that laughter is the best medicine. Thought I would do something a little bit different today. Have a relaxing weekend and take care. Hugs.

Shady - the thought of you laughing like a loon does make me smile, dear Tom. Gosh, the Marx Brothers were silly, weren't they?! (Not that I'm old enough to remember them of course! LOL!). I'm glad that you're getting all this blog love my friend, because we all love you and enjoy your comments so much. We appreciate the humour and the thought that you put into them. Talking about that 'darned Desiree', I knew she was trying to take mine and Belle's place in your heart!! Hee Hee! Have a lovely weekend Tom and thank you for your care and support.

Belle - now that would be telling!! LOL! I'm all agog now to think which one reminds you of your hubby. I hope it isn't the first one with the computer!! Sending hugs your way my friend x

Oh, no! I see you are up to your old tricks again, Ms Mini Skirt Queen 2011. I was feeling the beginnings of a really pleasant glow after having visited Facing 50's blog and felt sufficiently kindly disposed to seriously consider exercising my smile muscles in time for her Christmas Party. I thought I had better just make an unscheduled visit to your blog after I had read the comment you left on hers. It had me a little worried as I suspected you might be up to your old tricks again and sadly, I find my fears well-founded! Not only are you shamelessly flirting with two of the nicest gentlemen in Blog Land, but it seems you are starting to corrupt their thoughts! That very nice man, Odie, has been posting such nice pictures of his happy home life, but I see he is now admitting to having some lustful thoughts about you. I am relieved to see Mr Shady remains as dignified as ever, preferring to politely avert his eyes.

What am I to do with you? I really thought I had taught you a lesson during the stressful Mini Skirt Competition. Right now, I can feel that unfamiliar glow retreating rapidly and those smile muscles are refusing to cooperate. If I am a party-pooper I shall have no option but to blame you.

Please do not forget that you are a GRANDMOTHER! You ought to behave far more decorously than you do.

Desiree said...

Diane, I too am chortling with the best of them! I did think the last picture looked remarkably like Mrs Grundy, but I cannot believe she'd allow her bedroom secrets to be aired so shamelessly in public! You are a naughty girl, aren't you?
Big hug!
That darned Desiree xoxo

Becky - glad you enjoyed the post today! Nice to have a laugh, don't you think?! Happy weekend to you.

Mrs Grundy - I was seriously thinking of ignoring your comment altogether, but then, I thought that would be rude, and I was brought up to be a nice young lady (even Mr Facing50 calls me that "nice young lady from Devon!"). I might be a grandmother, but I'll have you know, there's life in the old gal yet!! I would prefer it if you refrained from coming along to my blog in the future, thank you very much.

Desiree - so lovely to speak to a 'nice' lady after that awful Mrs Grundy has suddenly made an appearance. Something has obviously made her come out of her hibernation. Anyway, no more about her my friend! I'm glad you had a laugh at my funnies today. As to that last picture, for goodness sake don't tell her, but I did manage to sneak into her apartment overlooking Buckingham Palace and took this priceless photo of her, with my NEW camera! I'm now thinking of contacting the papers to see how much they will offer me for it! Enjoy your weekend. Sending big hugs to you x
